Position – Senior RF Electronics Engineer
Rate – £600.00 per day Umbrella Co
Determination – Inside IR35
Hours – Typically 38 hours per week
Location – Leicester, UK / Hybrid
Duration – 6 months + expected extensions

Job Outline:
Senior Electronics Engineer required for full electronics design lifecycle responsibility of short-range RF embedded devices for both the existing portfolio and the future roadmap. This includes analogue and digital board design including schematics, layout, analysis, basic board programming for prototype testing, approvals process management and product ownership into mass production and beyond.    

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities;
1 – Responsible for the design and development of embedded hardware for offender monitoring equipment, working within the embedded development team.

2 – Ensure all designs are fully type approved and pass compliance testing

3 – Work within embedded development team to identify any current areas of concern in design process and develop solutions.

4 – Ensure that designs meet all requirements for functionality and performance defined in the specifications while meeting project timescales and cost targets

5 – Ensure that all designs are fully documented and archived

6 – Provide technical support to operations and production teams to ensure product designs are understood and can be correctly manufactured, tested and maintained

7 – Develop new IP and ensure that it can be protected by following IP documentation and confidentiality processes

8 – Maintain up to date understanding of the technology sectors applicable to the company’s current and future products.

Skills and Knowledge;

Essential;

1 – Excellent electronics and hardware design skills

2 – At least 5 years’ experience in low-power, microcontroller-driven systems

3 – Significant Altium software exposure

4 – Experience with product approval processes

5 – Fundamental firmware knowledge

6 – Fundamental RF knowledge    

Desirable;

1 – History of driving hardware development process changes

2 – ‘C’ programming experience

3 – High volume product design

4 – Proven RF design capabilities

5 – Solid supplier relationships
