Rate – £55.00 per hour Umbrella Co OR PAYE equivalent 
Duration – 12 Months +
Hours – Typically 38 hours per week
Determination – Inside IR35
Security – UK BPSS / SC Security Clearance to be in place
Location – Keynsham, Bristol, UK / Remote (2 days per week office based)

Overall Department Direction;

From system feasibility analyses of engineering problems and solutions, to fully incorporated design changes our client support the entire design lifecycle. They are the key component ensuring that the nation’s nuclear submarines are available and ensure the nuclear deterrent is always maintained.

Our client is currently recruiting within the Future Submarines Business Unit, Dreadnought Project Management Office, a Project Planner working within ITAR regulations.   

Main Purpose of Role;

Develop & maintain schedule(s) (in P6 and/or Microsoft Project) for the Control Account Managers (CAMs); using data from the MoD requirement, ensuring the correct level of logic is incorporated to deliver the project outputs. 

Liaise with the Principal Project Controller Planner for Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) updates, ensuring the interdependencies are clearly identified and that the integrity and quality are maintained.

Creation and maintenance of the project baseline data and forecast, ensuring that strict configuration and change control is employed.

Develop and update individual network programmes, deadline dates & plans to meet all Project requirements in conjunction with internal Project Managers, CAMs & MoD stakeholders (if appropriate).

Carry out periodic update of programmes to identify deviations from baseline and recommend corrective actions.

Apply and provide guidance on Earned Value Management methodology for the analysis of performance and variance reporting.

Assign resource as directed by PMO Management / CAMs and generate Resource Loading Profiles to confirm resource availability.

Support the future bid work to develop the schedule and cost proposals.

In conjunction with the wider PMO, prepare, maintain, analyse and provide Project Management Information to enable the monitoring and control of the programme (inclusive of Key Performance Indicators, Dashboards, Milestones, Deliverables and Dependencies).

Comply with Programme scheduling practices and procedures, resolving and reporting on system issues.

Responsible for arranging and chairing the Control Account Local Risk Review, participating in the risk evaluation process to enable Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis.

To promote and represent Babcock Marine in a professional and responsible manner.

To provide advice on Project and Programme Management tools, techniques and processes to support the PMO and the wider Enterprise.

Support the delivery of Project improvement activities across the organisation. 

   

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences;

Current SC or DV clearance, you will not be considered without active SC clearance.

Must be British-born due to the project being within ITAR.

Proven experience as a project planner /scheduler.

Extensive knowledge of and adept in the use of Primavera P6 and MS Project planning tools to create Work, Product and Organisational Breakdown Structures and schedules.

Good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Project and Word).

The post holder should be capable of working professionally, interacting across multiple stakeholders, providing a project management focus.

Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external staff, at all levels within the Submarine Enterprise, including senior management.

Good analytical skills and the ability to think logically are essential attributes.

A working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Information Management System(s) would be an advantage.    

Qualifications;

Degree qualified in a relevant discipline with relevant experience or HNC/HND qualified with significant relevant experience.

Hold a Project Management Qualification such as Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2.
