Position – Commissioning Engineer
Type – Contract
Rate – £45.00 per hr for all hours worked + £2 per hr retainer -paid in full at the end of commissioning.
Duration – 12 Months +
Hours – Typically 44 hours per week
Determination – Inside IR35
Security – UK BPSS / SC Security Clearance to be in place
Location – Hinkley Point, Somerset, UK

Role description:
Delivering commissioning projects to meet the appropriate national legal requirements and Client’s requirement specification, the developed technical specifications and applied standards. Provide commission ability input into the concept, detail design and construction processes.

Academic Requirements;

Level 4 Qualification (e.g. HNC) preferred but ‘commissioning specific’ experience may be considered in lieu of qualification.

Written endorsement of competency assessment from the Head of Construction and Commissioning.

IOSH Managing Safely.

Experience requirements;
Commensurate experience (including in supervisory role), covering a range of demanding engineering topics.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities;

Deputise for Site Manager.

Production of the Project Commissioning Plan and associated documents.

Day to day management of site commissioning works.

Interfacing with the client (including Test and Commissioning Panel).

Interfacing with the Project Manager.

Management of commissioning subcontractors on site.

Recruitment of site commissioning personnel.

To Set commissioning personnel to work.

To Lead by Example.

To comply with company procedures in the execution of their role.

Any other task/duties, commensurate with the Role Holder’s competency, as directed by the Line Manager.

These duties are project specific and in addition to those described in the Company and project manuals and procedures. He/she shall ensure familiarity with these documents and any legislation to which they refer.

Note: it may not be possible or practical to build commissioning teams where an individual is dedicated to a role within the project structure. In such cases the Commissioning Engineer may be expected to fulfil more than one role provided the corresponding competency assessment is satisfactorily completed.
