Job Description:

We are currently looking for a contractor to assist in maintaining our clients SSTL’s Test Lab in accordance with SSTL procedures.

Previous Experience Required:

Primary role will be supporting the Lab Manager in the general day-to-running of the Kepler Building Test Lab – Typical duties include:

• Assist in maintaining lab area safety and tidiness 
• Maintain Electro-Static Discharge protection facilities 
• Maintain Inventory of lab equipment 
• Facilitate calibration and servicing processes for equipment used in test lab and flight assembly departments 
• Facilitate repairs and where appropriate seek repair quotes for test equipment 
• Assist in lab coat and consumable replenishing 
• Assemble and align in-house cable assemblies and test jigs/boxes 
• Assist with test lab and flight assembly workload handover to ensure smooth running of cross department flight hardware
• Must be prepared to help Flight Assembly when required 
• Other activities as delegated  

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

• Experience within an engineering environment
• Practical, hands-on ability
• Good general computing skills (word processing and basic spreadsheets) Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• ESA or IPC certificate or a good knowledge in soldering and wiring practices
• Clear communication skills
• A knowledge of safety and COSHH processes and procedures
