Position – Maintenance Technician (Mechanical / Electrical)

Type – Contract

Rate – £32.00 per Hour (Ltd / Umbrella Co)

Location – Crewe, Cheshire

Determination – Outside IR35 (CEST Report Required) 

Hours – Shifts – Morning 06:00-13:30 – Afternoon 13:15-21:15 (Weekends work required) 

Duration – 6 Months +

Position;
  1. Reactive maintenance
  1. Responsible for leading breakdown activity and ensuring appropriate communication occurs (to either local management during normal working hours or escalation to “on-call” management during out of hours)
  2. Ensures Safety of themselves and others within Health and Safety best practice. Ensuring any controlled machine moves do not jeopardise the safety of any local personnel.
  3. Responds to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise production volume loss
  4. Structured and documented approach to fault diagnosis
  5. In depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, control equipment, PLC and robotic programming systems to resolve maintenance breakdowns
  6. Generation of appropriate operational containment if permanent corrective action cannot be implemented at time of breakdown. Individual to ensure appropriate Health and Safety measures are put in place for the containment.
  7. Prioritise work to ensure customer satisfaction
  8. Responsible for ensuring that the equipment is handed over to production is a safe and operational condition. If this cannot be achieve individual is responsible for locking off the equipment and communicating to maintenance and/or production management
  9. Escalation of issues to maintenance management team and appropriate production personnel / management
  10. Performs root cause analysis within prescribed Bentley documentation to generate quick and effective countermeasures
  11. Participate in departmental de-briefs and problem solving activities
  12. Generation of appropriate communication documentation (eg single point lessons, “How do I’s” etc)
  13. Data input into SAP system to record all associated information related to breakdown
  14. Expectation, whereas possible, to work extend hours to assist in the rectification of major breakdowns
  15. In the absence of a local co-ordinator individual would temporarily assume the co-ordinator role
  16. Procurement of appropriate replacement spares using workflow and framework ordering systems in line with budgetary requirements. 

Planned, preventative and predictive maintenance

  1. Perform routine planned maintenance activities. Ensuring any identified performance shortcomings are either repaired or documented such that rectification at a later date can occur
  2. Responsible for completion of assigned PPMs in designated time
  3. Communication to be performed with local production management / personnel to ensure PM activities have minimal impact on production
  4. Responsible for ensuring that the equipment is handed over to production is a safe and operational condition. If this cannot be achieve individual is responsible for locking off the equipment and communicating to maintenance and/or production management
  5. Document findings and corrective actions required / performed on paper based PPM sheet and SAP CMMS system
  6. Critical appraise the content of the PPMs and offer recommendations for improvement
  7. Active involvement in predictive maintenance techniques (thermal imaging, vibration monitoring etc)
  8. Perform appropriate “Start of shift” and “In shift” checks on critical plant and equipment
