Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Leicester, Competitive Salary
I am working in partnership with a world-renowned, industry leading security solutions provider. Within this part of the company, you will be working on intriguing projects in conjunction with Ministry of Justice departments across the globe in designing robust, cutting-edge wireless security products which contribute to securing and protecting people, premises and valuables.
We are looking for an ambitious and talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for the design of new and existing company products and support equipment.
Role Responsibilities
Actively deliver designs via the New Product introduction (NPI) process from development to production on time and to budget.
Support and drive the NPI processes to ensure a full, accurate and complete product is released
A Develop new IP and ensure that it can be protected by following IP documentation and confidentiality processes.
Maintain up to date understanding of the technology sectors applicable to the company’s current and future products.
Ensure new products quickly reach the market, including supporting other engineers’ efforts.
Ensure that all designs are fully validated and approved; ensuring that they meet all aspects of functionality and performance defined in the Requirement Specifications
Provide technical support to operations and production teams to ensure product designs are understood and can be correctly manufactured and maintained.
Key Skills that are essential to be at the right level for this role:
Solidworks or equivalent package.
Design & manufacture products into manufacturing
Working in a Product Design environment
Background with enclosures for compact electronics
Desirable Skills
QMS systems, related to product design.
Technical background in a relevant field
Background with wearable products sealed to IP68.
Plastic Material expertise, understanding best properties for wearable technologies
